Cable Assembler – Contract to Hire
Leading aerospace company is seeking a Cable Assembly Technician to support the assembly, preparation, and production of cable and wiring harness assemblies. In this hands-on role, you will work from technical drawings and work instructions to strip, splice, crimp, label, and assemble cables while ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Schedule/Hours of the Cable Assembler:
7am-3:30pm
Pay Rate of the Cable Assembler:
$22/hr
Responsibilities of the Cable Assembler:
- Assemble cable and wiring harness components following drawings and work instructions
- Cut, strip, splice, and crimp wiring using hand tools and hydraulic crimping equipment
- Prepare, sand, clean, and paint cable assemblies for production
- Label and color-code assemblies according to specifications
- Measure, cut, and prepare cable materials
- Assemble sub-components and prepare assemblies for molding processes
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet customer requirements
- Support team production goals and assist with additional assembly tasks as needed
Requirements of the Cable Assembler:
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to differentiate wire colors and labels accurately
- Experience using hand tools and working with small components
- Ability to safely operate cutting tools and crimping equipment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
