Process Engineer – Direct Hire

A leading manufacturer in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a driven, technically sharp Process Engineer to lead product design and development from concept through commercialization. In this role, you’ll partner with customers and internal teams to turn ideas into successful product launches — developing new processes and technologies that fuel business growth and operational excellence. 

Pay Rate of the Process Engineer:
$70,000 – $75,000 annually.

Schedule of the Process Engineer:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 or 8:00 AM to 4:00 or 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:

  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define, document, and validate product requirements, features, benefits, and performance expectations.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and document product and process trials to ensure project objectives and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Work closely with suppliers to identify, evaluate, and specify appropriate materials for product development and manufacturing.
  • Develop manufacturing methods and lead the design, implementation, and improvement of process equipment.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, quality plans, test methods, work instructions, risk assessments, and related records.
  • Ensure the successful transfer and launch of new products into manufacturing after development activities are complete.
  • Analyze, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes, systems, and product performance after commercial release.
  • Develop cost models, budgets, and financial analyses for trials, production processes, and capital investment projects.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, keeping each on schedule, within budget, and on track for success.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and project updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications of the Process Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a web converting manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical role within web converting manufacturing.
  • Training and/or professional experience in project management.
  • Proven ability to lead product development, process improvement, and commercialization projects.
  • Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
