Mechanical Drafter – Temp to Hire

A well-known company in the technology industry is looking to hire a Mechanical Drafter. This is a temp to hire opportunity in Devens, MA. 

Pay Rate of the Mechanical Drafter: 

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Drafter:

  • Develop detailed 3D models, component part models, assemblies, fabrication drawings and machine detail drawings using Solidworks for GMP processing systems.
  • Create and revise 2D piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) received from engineer group.
  • Interface with vendors along with internal project teams to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements based on project specifications and system component lists.
  • Prepare electronic layout drawings, detailed scale drawings, and material and equipment requirements (BOM) from project specifications. 
  • Review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants, vendors, and project team members. 
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to the fabrication team in the interpretation and implementation of provided fabrication drawings.
  • Generate as-built drawings to represent system changes made during the fabrication phase.

Requirements of the Mechanical Drafter:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in preparation of complex systems using SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Ability to design and modify electronic 2D schematics, 3D models and assemblies.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work with customer specifications and schematics.
  • BPE Standards design knowledge is a plus.
