Mechanical Drafter – Direct Hire

Global leader of gear and electronic motors manufacture is currently looking for a Mechanical Drafter in Suwanee, GA. This is a direct hire opportunity! 

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Drafter:

  • Produces working drawings of design details and drawing documentation of gears and gear motors as well as component parts utilizing technical drawing standards.
  • Analyzes and determines engineering modifications and changes needed to fulfill customer requirements for equipment.
  • Produces new or revised 2-D, 3-D and solid modeling working drawings.
  • Creates part numbers and part designations in company ERP system for local supply components such as custom machine parts, fabricated assemblies, and subcontracted modified parts.
  • Works closely with engineering and production departments and customer to obtain best design solutions based on customer needs and company product offerings.
  • Assists engineering department in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
  • Translates technical and manufacturing drawings for design use.
  • Delivers basic design engineering knowledge presentations when needed
Requirements of the Mechanical Drafter:
  • 3+ years of mechanical design work 
  • Technical or Associates Degree in design or mechanical engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with Mechanical CAD Design Software (Autocad, Solidworks, Inventor)
  • Demonstrates a mechanical mindset with an understanding of various components and their use
