Soldering Technician – 1st Shift

We’ll known electronic manufacturing company is currently hiring for Soldering Technicians in Maple Grove, MN. These are temp to hire opportunities! 

Shift of the Soldering Technician:
Monday – Friday
6:00am – 2:30pm

Responsibilities of the Soldering Technician:

  • Perform Solder assignments to fabricate parts and/or components or perform preparation tasks requisite to fabrication. Requires the use of basic hand tools, special fasteners, soldering iron and measuring devices.
  • Following all written work instructions, process sheets and drawings.
  • Will perform hand soldering of Through Hole, SMT, or Flex product while using a scope. Prepares wire by cutting, stripping, twisting, tinning and solders, fastens wires, cables, resistors, capacitors and other parts and components to pwb’s, connectors, and assemblies.
  • Cleans parts and hand places components during production processes using in-line clean, hand clean and or vapor degreaser.
  • Required to measure and record product data. Follows all ESD procedures.
  • May also operate soldering equipment such as solder wave, selective solder, surface mount equipment, and special parts preparation equipment.  Use safety practices and takes prompt action to correct problems.
  • Assists co-workers when necessary to meet work unit goals.
  • Actively seeks continuous process improvement.
  • May be required to train other employees and aysist in orientation of new employees.  Performs other duties as required and may be used in other areas and departments of manufacturing as workload dictates.
Requirements of the Soldering Technician:
  • High School education or equivalent, plus one year similar manufacturing experience including microscope soldering or 6 months experience plus current IPC-610 & J-STD certificate.
  • Will be required to pass J-STD-OOI and IPC-A-610 certification to be qualified to perform the job duties of a Solder.
  • Follows oral and written instructions, and must be able to read blueprints.
  • Work will involve repetitive hand motion when performing hand soldering.
