Helping Others Brings Employees Together

RM House

At DAVIS we have a very active community service group, our Impact Team. This groups focus is on hands on activities helping others from food drives to coat drives and serving meals to supporting sick children and our veterans. Davis is proud to provides our employees 16 hours a year per employee for community service programs. We know how important opportunities to help others is to our team.

Recently we sent a team to The Ronald McDonald House in Providence, RI. We’ve supported this amazing program for several years. This year we had 8 employees go to help out on a 3 hour shift. Several of the attendees were newer employees who hadn’t participated in any other activities like this before.

“What an eye-opening experience this was. Ronald McDonald house provides an amazing facility for families to stay that have sick children is a nearby children’s hospital. Private space, meals and a supportive community environment. This was my first service event and part of what attracted me to DAVIS was the opportunity to get involved and give back. And that DAVIS coordinates these opportunities to participate and encourage our involvements, is amazing. “said John, one of our new Account Managers.

Mark, an engineering recruiter said, “This was my first experience to help others in need here at DAVIS. It was a chance to see close up how our time and energy helped provide a clean and well-maintained facility for those who need it. Spending time with my DAVIS co-workers who I don’t always interact with on day to day basis brought us closer sharing this experience together”.

Nicole has participated in this event twice in the past 3 years and said “Ronald McDonald house is one of my favorite volunteer opportunities. Having a son and a nephew who both received long-term care at Boston Children’s Hospital, I know firsthand how important it is to have a support system and a place to feels like home during those tough weeks and months. Anything that I can do to give back and help other families feel more comfortable and at ease means the world to me.”
