5 Ways to Reset Your Mind During the Work Day

9.22

The typical workday can be highly stressful, especially if you’re sitting at your desk 8 hours a day. It’s easy to procrastinate or lose focus without keeping your mind refreshed and alert. Here are a few ideas that can help you reset your mind during the work day.

Go for a Walk

A quick 15 minute walk can do wonders for you. You can walk around the office-depending on how big your office is- or you can step outside and go for a walk around the block. Getting out of the office and breathing in some fresh air can be the key to keeping your mind sharp.

Have a Snack

You could combine your walk with grabbing a snack. Hunger can block your productivity and your creativity, so grabbing a quick snack can give you the extra boost you need to keep working through your day.

Break up Your Day with Work Out

Utilize your lunch break to work out. You could go for a run, hit the gym, or take a yoga class during your lunch break and return to work feeling energized, ready to conquer the second half of your walk day.

Take a Music Break

Even if you listen to music constantly throughout the day, put on a song that makes you want to dance! It will give you an energy boost and give you a break from your focus music.

Try the 45/15 Rule

This rule is useful for everyone, not just procrastinators. Essentially, you work hard for 45 minutes, and then break or lessen the intensity of your work load for 15 minutes. It’s similar to a high intensity workout, only it’s for your brain. Try it out!
