At DAVIS, we like to get involved, take action, and make an impact in our local communities. Even though the start of school may look different from years past with the COVID-19 pandemic, DAVIS teamed up with United Way of Tri-County for their annual Tools for School program! This program provides children ranging from grades K-12 with backpacks full of essential, grade-appropriate school supplies to ensure that these kids are set up for success throughout the school year!
The Backpack Giveback and Tools for School program is one of our favorite community service events – and this year marks the 14th consecutive year that DAVIS has participated in this event! DAVIS staff normally purchase, sort and fill the backpacks, but our participation this year looked a little bit different. While working remotely, we collected monetary donations in lieu of physical ones and were able to donate $1,500. This year, the Tools for School Program was able to provide over 2,000 local children with backpacks filled with everything from crayons to calculators!
As a business, giving back allows you the opportunity to create positive goodwill in your local community, strengthen your business’s reputation, create connections and network with other local organizations. We enjoy making a positive difference in our community and hope our contributions can help these students start their school year off on the right note. These students may be working for your company one day and it feels great to know that you may have had a small part in getting them there!
