Responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist:  The Human Resources Generalist is an essential part of the Human Resources Department and is responsible for providing administrative support, client and employee support to all offices, managing company-wide employee morale projects and fostering our positive corporate culture.     

  • Work with the HR Manager to provide leadership and strategic guidance to the leadership team, management team and the company as a whole;
  • Provides company-wide support in the areas of Human Resources, State and Federal law compliance;
  • Ensures new hire on-boarding documentation is completed in timely manner and maintain ongoing relationship with employees to continually promote DAVIS benefits and programs;
  • Provides benefits coordination and administration for all staff including enrollments, employee questions, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions;
  • Provides employee relations and management guidance to the management team; resolves employee relations issues, complaints or concerns; escalate difficult or very complex issues to manager as needed;
  • Responsible for working with compliance service providers and would be main point of contact for support and troubleshooting;
  • Ensures smooth, efficient processing of all state and federal compliance programs (i.e. WOTC, I-9, Affirmative Action);
  • Facilitates open enrollment period each year. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with, communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers when necessary and conducts employee presentations. Processes all changes within deadlines;
  • Provides data entry support, garnishment entry, employment verification, and unemployment company-wide as needed;
  • Fosters and builds the company culture through team building, training, event coordination and morale boosters;
  • Serves as an integral part of the DAVIS Community Impact Team;
  • Diligently pursues a broad and deep understanding of all aspects of your division, your core competencies /skill sets, and our company as a whole;
  • Takes overall responsibility for personal growth, goal achievement and effectiveness in this position.

Qualifications of the Human Resources Generalist:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and friendly personality
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Computer literacy required with proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • 3-5 years Human Resource experience
  • PHR/SPHR Certification – obtained and maintained
  • Ability to prioritize and organize
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to think independently
