Quality Technician

The Quality Technician will perform advanced dimensional and visual inspections of raw material and various manufacturing processes.  Perform inspections using various methods and equipment, complete appropriate quality records within company and GMP guidelines, policies and procedures.  Is able to work in a team environment, and interact with a multitude of organizations during manufacturing operations.  

  • Advanced dimensional and visual inspections
  • Manually operate various precision testing equipment including but not limited to CMM,  Vision Systems, and Gage Stations
  • Basic programming of various precision testing equipment including but not limited to CMM, Vision Systems, and Gage Stations
  • Performs inspections in support of Receiving Inspections, Floor Audits, Dock Audits, Gage R&R, FAI's, and Process Capability (IQ, OQ, PQ) studies 
  • Audits and trains employees in the proper use of inspection equipment and documentation
  • Interprets blueprints, follows control plans, RIR's, and IPI's
  • Interprets SPC results
  • Accurately records and reports inspection results
  • Enters and logs time per part into the ERP system on a timely basis
  • Recommends changes to quality documentation
  • Maintains an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, and equipment in QA Lab
  • Participates in the Change4Better/Safety program to help drive a better workplace
  • Participates in A3’s, Kaizen, and Learning to See Waste as the opportunity is presented

  • Advanced knowledge of inspection equipment use and maintenance 
  • Advanced level blueprint reading
  • Advanced level understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerencing (GD&T)
  • Excellent shop math skills to include:  fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Technical writing skills
  • Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions, SOP’s and training documents, including the ability to create new work and training instructions 
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and ERP systems
  • Problem analysis/solving
  • Managing internal and external relationships
  • Ability to quickly shift priorities in support of production
  • Organization: managing multiple requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to take direction  
  • Ability to provide input and participate in department meetings
  • Ability to cross train when required
  • Dexterity and hand and eye coordination

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 5 years of experience in quality assurance

Preferred Qualifications


  • 2 year Technical College / Machine Trades / Quality Training preferred
  • ASQ certifications a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485 a plus
