DAVIS Companies has partnered with a leader in Medical Device manufacturing, to identify a Production Supervisor to join their team! 

Position summary                                                   
Directs and coordinates manufacturing staff to ensure production objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with customer delivery and quality requirements. Drives continuous improvement to the methods of manufacturing and ensures a safe and procedural compliant work environment. This person works closely with Engineering, Tooling and Operations for planning daily activities. 

Essential Job Functions of the Production Supervisor:                        

• Works to ensure the production schedule is accurate, issues are resolved, and delivery dates are met
• Collaborate to implement and sustain Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Operational Excellence (SQDC,OE) metrics to ensure they are driving the expected behavior and results
• Leads staff through visual metrics and tiered accountability meetings
• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; and implementing cost reductions and developing reporting procedures and systems
• Supports safety initiative and adherence to safety policies
• Monitor, mitigate and implement cost reductions, such as waste, scrap, damage, and rework
• Supports and encourages Change 4 Better program; drives continuous improvement by implementing and coordinating lean initiatives Kaizan/5S/A3
• Works closely with toolmakers and press technicians in troubleshooting tooling problems and determining solutions
• Communicates and delivers employee communication tools for job performance to include annual performance goals, employee recognition, training, and development, coaching and counseling
• Monitors staffing levels and works with Human Resources on talent management initiatives
• Communicates, adheres, and enforces company policies
• Initiates and fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience of the Production Supervisor: 

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience- preferably in a metal stamping manufacturing setting 
• Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
• Experience with employee development, planning and retention
• Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and principles to include: process management, statistical process control, production layout, capacity planning, production sequencing and utilization and cost/productivity efficiency
• Experience with operational excellence, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, visual management & standard work
• Ability to lead cross functional teams to drive to root cause issue resolution
• Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or other formal continuous improvement methodology, preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and ERP systems

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications: 

• BS degree or relevant certification with concentration in metal stamping manufacturing or equivalent experience
• Prior Production Supervisor experience with a focus on Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing and Visual Management
• Experience working in a medical device environment with exposure to ISO 13485: 2016
