Fire Protection and Detection System Designer ($70-100K/year)

We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Protection and Detection System Designer for our client who is a leader in industrial fire protection solutions. This is a direct hire/permanent position with terrific benefits!

Responsibilities:
  • Provide company with a complete and functioning fire detection or protection system drawings that meet company standards and client specifications, requirements, and schedules. 
  • Ability to solve problems, have good organizational skills, meet scheduled deadlines, to be able to read, analyze and interpret plans and specifications and related project information.  
  • Ability to communicate externally and internally and have a good working relation with both. 
  • The Fire Systems Designer is selected and appointed by the Project Manager and has been delegated the authority required to successfully accomplish all the duties and responsibilities of this position. 
  • This position may require that you be involved in designing several different projects. 
  • Review sketches and drawings, specifications and comments received from the client, i.e. project manager. 
  • Apply NFPA and client requirements to insure proper fire alarm system design and installation.
  • Prepare shop drawings, product submittals, as-builts and use project software to help with cost control. 
  • Work closely with other CADD Designers to produce a project drawing set that meets the procedure and standard set by the company. 
  • Prepare calculations. 
  • Organize drawings and information in the master computer system and make sure information and documents are properly stored. 

Qualifications:
  • NICET III or IV in Fire Alarm and Special Hazards and a minimum of Five (5) experience in industrial market and be proficient in AutoCad
  • Must be able to travel to job sites
