Electrical Technician - 2nd and 3rd shifts available!!!

In this position you will perform duties in the repair, testing, debugging, and documentation of electronic control systems for high speed manufacturing machinery.  You will work from written instructions, specs, technical manuals and engineering sketches.  You will use a variety of test equipment, as well as repair test equipment and components.

Responsibilities:

  • Program and/or modify all PLC based electrical machine control systems; including vision systems, robots, servo systems, weld controllers and lasers.
  • Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, wire components, modify, and/or maintain all electronic/electrical equipment. Up/download and perform minor program changes to programmable logic controllers. Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, charts, tables, specifications, manufacturer handbooks, etc.
  • Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of electronic and electrical machine control systems to diagnose cause of malfunction and institute sustainable correction actions.  Test electrical components and circuits to locate, diagnose and remedy defects using dual/trace oscilloscope, analog and digital meters, test bench equipment, ammeters, voltmeters, automatic test equipment, etc.  Replace defective components and wiring, adjust electro-mechanical devices as required.
  • Calibrate, adjust, align, and/or modify electronic circuitry and components (such as vision systems, robotics, etc. equipment, etc.) and record effects on performance and make recommendations concerning the improvement of efficiency and quality to assist in the resolution of operating problems encountered and consult and work with specialists/engineers, on experimental or exploratory problems. 
  • Consult and work with specialists and engineers on:  experimental or exploratory problems, cost reduction programs, availability problems, etc.  Check schematics, diagrams and layouts for omissions or errors. Use PM Programs.
  • Perform initial root cause analysis on equipment downtime and institute sustainable corrective action. 
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area(s) and observe company policies at all times. 

 

Requirements:

  • A two year technical school (associates degree), or related military experience strongly preferred. 
  • 1+ year related experience
  • Proven electronics background and experience required.
