Senior Manufacturing Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: Identifies sources of waste in production and implements changes to drive cost, quality and throughput improvements and supports production associates to do the same.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Participate in engineering technical reviews.

Develop methods for transitioning from development to production and identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Complete end to end planning, direction and co-ordination of all the manufacturing processes. Develop tooling and fixturing to improve workflow. Estimate the number of production personnel for a project, calculate the time involved and related costs for doing the project, clearly provide direction, training to the production personnel about the work flow, create a layout about the equipment in order to get higher level of production efficiency.  Weekly Customer interface meetings

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be adaptable as well as comfortable in a dynamic work environment with quickly changing priorities.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must understand Manufacturing Engineering fundamentals, including process documentation, tool design and development. Ability to read/interpret drawings, parts lists and technical data packages. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Ability to review and follow military standards.

 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years Manufacturing Engineering Experience
  • Experience with Automation projects
  • PLC programming experience - desirable
  • 3D CAD experience
  • Experience with data analysis and trend analysis
  • MS product knowledge, specifically Excel and Word
  • Lean, Six-Sigma, Green or Black Belt training/experience desired
  • Hands On evaluation, trouble-shooting and process development
  • Strong tooling background
