Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will serve as the point of contact for quality control planning, development, application and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into finished product. This role requires someone who works well with broad supervision from the department manager and must be capable of advanced decision-making in the manager?s absence.

Successful candidates will:
  • Interface with the plant management staff and engineering to ensure that quality improvement activities are in in line with plant quality and operational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain best in class supplier quality program, interface with all hourly employees, supervisors, department managers and division personnel while leading and coordinating improvement activities. 
  • Coordinate the resolution of product quality concerns (process/customer) and facilitate responsiveness to customers 
  • Support and promote Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities, using our clients Toolbox
  • Support customer in 8D responses and regular quality resolution update meetings.
  • Assure quality management system (QMS) alignment with the ISO9001:2015 standard.
  • Monitor and determine actions for first pass yield reports, scrap reports, and process audit reports.
  • Employ statistical process controls and techniques to reduce scrap/rework and to drive continuous improvement
  • Participate in the review of design, test documentation to ensure that applicable system and contract quality requirements are met and prepare slides for regular Quality review meetings. 
  • Additional job duties consist of customer visits, fielding any concerns or complaints, supplier resolution and support quality issues with production and engineering teams to name a few.

  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 requirements
  • Ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels including senior management and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to organize tasks to meet competing and/or changing deadlines
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Advanced MS Excel user, Document control software, shop floor management software, MS Access, MS Office

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred with a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience
  • Ability to work with several individuals while showing independence in balancing and prioritizing their requests
  • Requires experience at handling multiple work assignments concurrently.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to provide support in a team environment
  • Individual must be able to follow directions accurately and finish tasks in a timely basis
  • Ability to travel (up to 10%) as necessary to customer sites
