Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Interfaces:

  • Source and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Define systems and processes to coordinate and manage purchasing, inventory control, inspection, receiving and budgeting
  • Coordinate material procurement lead times with suppliers and forecasts with marketing / business development and sales in support of timely demand fulfillment
  • Coordinate and support integration of above processes into enterprise systems as needed to support report generation
  • Coordinate with parent company to leverage their supplier network and resources

Process & Flow Transfer:

  • Work with Product Design teams to manage the creation, documentation, and transfer of manufacturing process flows
  • Support external manufacturing by defining requirements, data flow (part & subassembly numbers, serial numbers, etc.), process flows, and labeling for manufacturing

CM and Fulfillment Vendor Management:

  • Responsibility for outsourced manufacturing, including selection and management of partners for manufacturing and fulfillment, forward / reverse logistics and servicing needs
  • Define and implement interfaces/interactions with outsourced manufacturing
  • Work with marketing to define and implement final assembly, including kitting, packaging, labeling and logistics options for production

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in related positions
  • Knowledge and understanding of supply chain planning processes
  • Direct operating and implementation experience in the following areas: 
    • Vendor assessments
    • Data flow
    • Understanding of ERP functions and architecture
    • Supply / demand planning and modeling experience o Inventory management and optimization
  • Willingness to travel to contract manufacturers (domestic and international)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Background in the robotics industry a plus
