Description

Mechanical Design Engineer

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer in the Atlanta, GA area. 

Responsibilities

  • Work within team of electrical engineers and others to define, design, and develop products according to product specifications in a timely manner
  • Analyze sales orders and customer specification in order to design equipment consistent with customer requirements
  • Product Design, development and quality assurance
  • Creating technical drawings with appropriate dimensioning and tolerancing of precision machined components, sheet metal experience is desired but not required
  • Coordinate development with internal and external resources
  • Create drawings, bill of materials, test specifications, engineering change notices, etc.; and assist with creating work instructions, manuals, etc.
  • Assist in specifying materials, process and details in all phases of development and manufacturing
  • Ensures that all designs, engineering drawings, parts lists, and related documents are accurate, up to-date, comply with drawing standards
  • Support of exiting products through troubleshooting, and implementation of correction
  • Maintaining a workflow that ensures timely adherence to all deadlines

Requirements

  • Experience designing in 3-D CAD, and creating 2D drawings, Knowledge of 3D software (Solidworks) preferred
  • Strong background with machining and manufacturing principals; hands-on machining experience a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP software and other office software
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Technical background including education and/or experience equivalent to 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering
