The Davis Companies is searching for a junior Manufacturing Engineer for one of our larger clients in Anoka, MN.  This is a permanent direct hire role and this person will drive operational excellence by promoting a continuous improvement culture in both the office and manufacturing areas using data-based analysis, decision making skills, team collaboration and empowerment.  The Manufacturing Engineer will need to use technical expertise to estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

Job responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Study sequence of operations to be performed and flow of materials
  • Analyze work force utilization plans, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of products and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Ensure time studies are performed when necessary and that product structure routings are complete and accurate
  • Project owner for new product introduction transfers to Manufacturing and ongoing change requests
  • Technical support resource for ongoing/day-to-day manufacturing operations and continuous improvement programs
  • Confer with production and engineering personnel concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential

Requirements of Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CAD/SolidWorks experience preferred. Knowledge of computer integrated manufacturing software including accessing and retrieving information using ERP systems.
  • Initiative to drive change by effectively communicating with internal and external customers and providing documentation with a high level of detail and follow through.
  • Candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office, CADD, and ERP software.
