The LSS Black Belt is responsible for optimistically leading change and encouraging a culture of structured, data-driven problem solving and process optimization utilizing the DMAIC process. The LSS Black Belt must be passionate about LSS and organizing/leading DMAIC projects. He or she must be able to effectively interface with all levels of the organization as well as customers and be comfortable with communicating results and activities to affected parties. In summary, the candidate must be an ambassador for the LSS Methodology and can study systems and build relationships.


  • Coordinate with finance to confirm the site’s project savings are correct for reporting.

  • Update the site’s monthly Lean Six Sigma Savings Scorecard.

  • Initiate and organize activities to conduct training of LEAN Six-Sigma principles across the organization.

  • Teach, Mentor and Coach LEAN Six-Sigma principles across the organization.

  • Develop and deliver monthly PowerPoint presentations to communicate results and activities to stakeholders.
  • 5% Travel (Pre - Covid 19)


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical field

  • LSS Black Belt Certification (with formal projects completed and presented)

  • 5+ years’ experience in continuous manufacturing environment (synthetic fibers experience a plus)

  • 2+ years’ active Black Belt experience or equivalent
  • Must be good with people


  • In-depth understanding of data analytics, automation, and/or process controls

  • LEAN Workplace Certification

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel / Python / Tableau; Microsoft Office Suite; Minitab
  • Strong understanding of techniques within the DMAIC methodology utilizing a structured approach to problem solving. Tools include: Process Flow Diagrams, Ishikawa Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, XY Matrices, Why-Why Analysis, & FMEA
