Description

Large Non-Profit Organization with Amazing Perks is Seeking Top Senior Accountant in the Greater Boston Area. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • GL maintenance, monthly journal entries, and financial statement preparation
  • Assist with timely month-end, year-end and grant year close cycles
  • Support Director of Finance in budget preparation & presentation to the BOD
  • Coordinate with staff accountant and development department to ensure that cash receipts are recorded, deposited and reconciled with QuickBooks and Donor Database. Ensure all support documents are provided for Director of Finance review
  • Collaborate with development department on event budgets, monitoring against budgets, and final reporting
  • Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations and investment activity reporting
  • Review and approve semi-monthly payroll with staff accountant
  • Collaborate with HR administration as needed: Review of vacation & sick-time accruals and holiday benefits for staff
  • Assist Grant Writer with program budgets and grant reporting
  • Asset management and depreciation schedules
  • Assist with annual external audit & tax return preparation
  • Ensure that all financial transactions comply with federal, state and company policies, regulations and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 4+ years senior accountant experience, preferably in non-profit sector
  • Proficient with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Available to periodically work evening and weekends to provide financial oversight and support for special events
  • Must be organized, detailed, show initiative, and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of government and grant reporting a plus
