Our client located in Lexington is looking for a  Warehouse Material Handler role is responsible for the safe and secure execution of receiving, storage, retrieval, packaging and shipping of inventory and non-inventory items in an organized condition. Physically prepare company product, paperwork and labels for shipment to customers.

  • Execute material transactions in company ERP system and use carriers’ computer systems to generate shipping labels, import/export documentation and manage document filing systems.
  • Physically unload deliveries, load shipments and inspect materials of all bound and outbound freight.
  • Pick, pack and ship correct items for customer orders by referencing part number, product description, pick location and pick quantity from computer generated work order.
  • Interact with all departments and employees within the company to ensure material and supply needs are met in a positive, helpful fashion.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for non-inventory items in a timely fashion to ensure consistent supply and availability and stocked shelves of various materials for internal use.
  • Perform physical inventory and cycle counting and related transactions in ERP system
  • Interact and support all internal departments to meet their material needs.
  • Perform all work assignments as trained to comply with all regulatory requirements and procedures.
  • Keep areas neat and clean throughout the work day using a clean-as-you-go policy. Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.

  • 3 years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Written and spoken literacy in English is required
  • Basic math skills are required
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures, stay on schedule and adhere to standards
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use computer based tools such as email, MS word, ERP systems, and carrier supplied shipping systems.
  • Ability to use basic material handling equipment
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Willingness to be trained in additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently in an organized manner while keeping supervisor informed of progress, issues, and resolutions. 

  Preferred Experience

  • Experience using FedEx Ship Manager
  • Syteline ERP systems use.
  • Previous work with biological materials and hazardous materials such as dry ice
