The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the procurement of materials, equipment, supplies and services to support the Operations department and the general needs of the company.  Responsible for some portions of the purchasing process including processing daily requests, invoice approval, etc. This is a contract role located in the NW metro. 


  • Coordinate purchasing activities with operations and pre-sales engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Placing, confirming, tracking and expediting orders with domestic suppliers
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor and communicate performance
  • Work with suppliers to obtain lead times and resolve discrepancies
  • Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions, obtain delivery quotations from vendors
  • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
  • Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
  • Process material and equipment returns
  • Stay abreast of industry dynamics including vendor product offerings and market pricing

Required Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Operations Management or a related field
  • Entry Level position with 0-3 Years’ Experience.
  • Preferred Certifications/Experience:
    • CPM or APICS certifications preferred                                                                                                       
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume
  • Knowledge of basic accounting processes and terminology preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook – advanced knowledge of the internet
  • Great Plains experience a plus
