Description

The DAVIS Companies is helping one of the leading designers and manufacturers of high quality custom control panels for high-volume OEMs, by securing a hard working and motivated individual to join their team as a Control Box Builder. 

Key responsibilities:

Inspect, assemble sheet metal pieces, mount components, perform wiring, and apply labels per documentation

Read, understand and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions, wiring schematics and diagrams

Straighten, align, and organize wire to professional standards

Apply hand tools to ensure correct torque

Document QC and problem resolution logs

Perform re-work of wiring and assembly at request and guidance of QC technicians

Assist in training measures as needed

Assist in other areas of manufacturing as needed

Maintain a safe, organized and efficient work area

Assist in 5S and Lean activities as required

Identify and assist in process improvement measures

Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization

Education, experience, and skills:

High school education or equivalent

Ability to use 'torque' tools

Experience readying and interpreting electrical schematics / diagrams preferred

One year wiring experience preferred

Proficiency using hand and power tools in a safe manner

Proficiency using precision measurement tools

Good hand dexterity and strength

ERP experience desired

High motivation level and ability to multi-task

Ability to work with independently with limited supervision

Ability to work well with others

Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills

Good math and communication skills

Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English without the aid of an interpreter

Ability to work overtime depending on work load

Physical Requirements:

Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally

Visual acuity (wire color and small print on wire)
