DAVIS Companies has partnered with a leader in Auto Manufacturing to identify a Noise, Vibration and Harshness Engineer to join their team!  
Position Duties of the NVH Engineer:

  • Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Engineer is responsible for the evaluation and testing of components, assemblies and full vehicles to support System Engineers and Product Development Teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • These responsibilities include:
    • Design appropriate or follow predetermined tests to confirm product reliability and/or assess performance.
    • Instrumenting vehicles and various test specimens to characterize events.
    • Perform data acquisition and extensive signal analysis and processing.
    • Write reports, including statistical analysis.
  • Work with product engineers, suppliers, and program team to develop targets for vehicle, system and component levels using benchmarking, physical testing, simulation, and engineering experience.
  • Work alongside the CAE team to develop targets from vehicle to component levels. Measure vehicle to validate targets and work to improve systems if needed.
  • Independently run vehicle and lab NVH testing including data acquisition

Minimum Requirements of the NVH Engineer:

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Masters preferred (such as MSME)
  • Must demonstrate excellent mechanical aptitude. Prior development testing experience a plus.
  • Must have an understanding of general NVH and NVH testing and analysis methods.
    • Airborne noise and vibration test and evaluation methodologies: absorption coefficient, modal analysis transfer path analysis, sound transmission loss testing, etc.
    • General data collection and Understanding of digital signal processing.
  • Solid NVH troubleshooting skill for issue resolution based on experience
  • Subjective evaluation skills for powertrain and vehicle level testing
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple programs to plan vehicle tuning and validation testing
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills
