Engineering Tech 
The Engineering Technician is responsible for building prototype devices and related assembly & test fixtures, as well as testing and verification of medical devices in support of development activities by engineering and scientific staff.  

Responsibilities: 
• Work as a critical member of the product development & manufacturing teams in support of design, prototyping, and evaluation activities relating to product and engineering and manufacturing tools, assembly and test fixtures.
• Conduct or assist in the fabrication of functional device prototypes.
• Execute tests to product requirements and performance specifications, record test results & issues, work through de-bugging and mitigation per good documentation practices.
• Setup, operate and maintain measurement equipment (mass flow control, humidity/temperature, flow rate, voltage/current), 3D printing equipment, and other lab and manufacturing equipment.
• Assist with performing first article inspections and documenting results.
• Assist the Safety Committee and perform Safety Inspections per company procedures.
• Perform other duties as required. 
 
Requirements: 
 
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in product development or in a high precision manufacturing environment; prior medical device industry experience is a plus.
• Experience with complex electromechanical and fluidic assembly involving pumps, valves and flow manifolds.
• Expertise in the use of hand tools, machine tools, soldering, and other methods for prototyping and product assembly.
• Familiarity with mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing, and interpretation of component specifications; SolidWorks skills are a plus.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to exactly follow detailed procedures and instructions .
• Ability to work with pressurized air and gas cylinders.
• Ability to properly document development activities in a regulated environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills. • Self-starter, ability to solve problems independently.
