Description

Our client located in Stoughton, Ma is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join their team. This is an immediate need. Looking for someone to start on Monday.

The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate verification of patient demographics, insurance coverage and the timely submission of prior authorization for OIS pump, kit and supplies.


Essential Functions:

  •  Perform registration. insurance verification and authorization request for OIS pump, kit and supplies
  • Contact physician to resolve issues regarding prior authorization’s or referral forms
  •  Assign insurance  plans accurately
  •  Perform electronic eligibility confirmation document results in Brightree system
  •  Ensures events pointed to the correct payer and plan
  •  Contact patient via phone to confirm or obtain missing demographic and insurance information
  • Answer questions from patients and/or clinics regarding charges billed for patient care in relationship to the OIS pump via email or phone
  • Special projects and other duties assigned to help with the Revenue Cycle process for OIS
  • Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings
  • Conducts self in accordance with MSD’s employee manual

Education and Knowledge

  • Minimum of a High school diploma or 2 year College degree preferred
  • Knowledge of authorizations and referrals are a must
  • Able to answer the telephone in a pleasant helpful manner
  • Knowledge of computer systems, and applications
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations

Skills

  • Skill maintaining and organizing large volumes of information.
  • Must have current working knowledge of Microsoft office skills, including Excel.
  • Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients and insurance companies.
