Business Development Manager, Attleboro 
Contract to Hire 

JOB SUMMARY

We are a world leader and early innovator in mission-critical sensor-rich solutions, helping our customers safely deliver a cleaner, more efficient, electrified and connected world. Our Automotive business is a major growth-driver, and we need a skilled Business Development professional who can identify hidden market problems and then visualize applicable to the client product and service solutions. It is an entrepreneurial role requiring initiative, creativity, strong customer relationship-building, communication, analytical, and leadership skills, as well as a thorough understanding of market trends, customers, vehicle systems, competition, and technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of “connecting the dots” between customer needs and company capabilities, with demonstrated results of business growth. Note: This is a 6-month contract assignment, with the potential to turn permanent based on results.



BUSINESS DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Sales and Marketing to identify subject matter experts and influencers within our set of automotive customers and develop working relationships.
Work with customers to identify potential solutions to problems (known and unknown to them).
Work with Client’s teams to understand technology portfolio and competencies
Build strategic, action-oriented business plans to grow share in existing applications and identify paths to expand our addressable market.
Lead cross-functional teams to create detailed customer proposals/quotations using financial tools, and present business cases for senior management approval.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to deliver new business opportunity closures.
Ultimately, your role is to link Client’s solutions to Customer problems and recommend the opportunities that represent the best growth investment.
In this role you will report to the General Manager, NA Powertrain business.


BUSINESS DEVELOPER QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
S. degree in engineering or related field (MBA preferred)
5 years minimum technical marketing experience preferred
5 years minimum experience in the automotive industry
Demonstrated achievement in business development in the automotive industry, ideally in powertrain (engine, transmission, exhaust) or something similar
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience driving change
The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the automotive industry, and the ability to get on people’s calendars.
