Description

Our client located in Sterling, MA is looking for an Assembly Technician who is able to test electronic parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions and skills include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Construction of electro-mechanical assemblies, specifically audio amplifiers,  loudspeakers, and passenger interface controls
  • Functional testing of finished assemblies using manual and automated test procedures
  • Documenting assembly process steps and verifying final test data 
  • Operating knowledge of electronic test equipment such as DMMs and power supplies 
  • Computer skills to run various equipment testing software
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to the sub-assembly level
  • Ability to read and follow detailed assembly and test procedures

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • 2-3 years’ assembly experience in an ISO/AS9100 or any standardized Quality Management System related environment.
    • Attention to details and adherence to processes and procedures are essential.
  • Requires the ability to read instructions and work from established assembly and test processes (no deviations allowed) and follow verbal instruction
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision but also work as a team player
  • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
  • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines

Physical Demands and Work Environment

 

  • Hours of work for this position are 7:00am – 3:30pm with two, 15-minute paid breaks; one in the morning, one in the afternoon and a ½ hour unpaid lunch break
  • Cell phones are not permitted to be used other than during break periods, unless a special request is made to the Production Supervisor. Cell phones are to be turned off and put out of sight at work area or left in the incumbent’s vehicle
  • Excessive, non-work-related conversations are to be kept to a minimum to avoid disruption in the workplace of others
