Description

Lean Associate
Our client in the greater Atlanta area is looking for a Lean/5S Associate to assist in the implementation of a 5S/Lean manufacturing rollout. The candidate will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineers and Plant Manager to complete the impletmentation, work through the inital and any subsequent audits and will be responsible for sustaining 5S and Lean throughout the operation. 


Requirements: 

  • Plans, performs, and implements process improvement initiatives.
  • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes. 
  • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Performs studies and collects data to identify the root cause of most significant issues and ensures the necessary Actions are properly assigned and implemented.
  • Measures performance against process requirements. Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.
  • Use Excel to create spreadsheets, text documents, database documents and visual presentations.
  • Facilitate/support training and presentations focused on Lean Manufacturing topics, process improvement/problem solving methodologies, system reviews, and methods to remove current/potential barriers. 
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to management to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Application of Lean Manufacturing concepts, including 5S.
  • Help sustain the 5S, visual management, 5S internal Auditing, 5S scoring.
  • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes. 
  • Carry out special projects and all other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications: 

  • Must have 2-3 years manufacturing experience. 
  • Lean Manufacturing experience experience preferred. 
  • Preferred is an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to work with different levels of Management and across multiple indirect departments (QA, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.). 
  • Must be able to base decisions on data supported facts and be detail-driven.
