Project Engineer - Manager
This is a leadership position with authority and responsibility for project management in Vineland NJ. . This role would entail production, process and project work. Increasing efficiency, capacity, and putting strategic processes in place to reduce manufacturing costs. The Vineland facility is a manufacturing site producing flavors and flavor systems mainly in frozen and refrigerated pastes packaged in pails and drums. The site has the following manufacturing capabilities: cooking, bowl cutters, Vemag Packers, Kettles and a Pilot Plant Spray Dryer and reactor. . This is a non-union facility with an Operations Team of 10 salaried and 40 hourly employees. The site has its own Quality and R&D capabilities. The facility operates primarily on a 10 -12 hours 5 day week operation however during peak period?s weekend production and maintenance will be done. The skills necessary to be successful include an understanding of semi continuous and batch processing, the ability to lead and manage plant priorities in areas including plant and personnel safety, administration of all corporate and plant policies, quality control, environmental compliance, production, cost management, capital disciplines, commercial interactions and colleague development for the location. The successful candidate will have the responsibility to oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department and have a vision for long-term strategy to ensure the continued success of the facility.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:
? Display a commitment to lead, participate and support ongoing safety including value based safety efforts.
? Lead Project work including maintenance. Oversight for capital and expense projects (AFEs), including budget and timing.
? Participate in the safety committee and food safety teams.
? Understanding of all operations, rules, regulations, policies and have the ability to communicate those requirements effectively to the maintenance workforce.
? Manage performance development for all colleagues under your leadership.
? Effectively use communication channels for proper coordination to provide solutions and promote teamwork among various groups such as production, quality, maintenance, engineering, quality, and inventory, R&D, shipping & receiving.
? Streamline production from inception to production to ensure maximum efficiency.
? Identify architectural details, layouts and process improvements.
? Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Food Science (or equivalent experience/background) supplemented with a minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience in food/flavor/ingredients manufacturing with a strong understanding of food processing. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment with superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and employee development with demonstrated leadership and motivational skills. Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies & safety programs. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment and results driven to provide support and achieve goals established by the division. Proven ability to assess business and financial risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
